The importers of a popular camping stove have issued a recall warning after a potentially dangerous fault was found with the latest models.

Lyon Equipment says a number of reports have been received of gas escaping from Jetboil Personal Cooking System and Group Cooking System stoves, with a resultant risk of ignition.
Only stoves with a new type of valve are affected. Lyon says the older style valves are safe to use.

The company says there have been no reports of injury or damage to property from the faulty stoves, but anyone with a newer type should return it to the store from which they bought it. It will be replaced with a new stove free of charge.

To help identify the stoves at risk, Lyon released the following pictures of the underside of the burner, with the newer stove on the left.

Owners should take the complete faulty stoves back to their retailer, minus the gas canister, for a replacement.

Anyone with questions on the recall should ring Lyon on 015396 26260 or contact them by email at helpdesk@lyon.co.uk.
