Three mountaineers were airlifted from a Torridon mountain after spending the night in a snow-hole.

The men were rescued early this morning, Monday, from Liathach, after getting into difficulties near The Pinnacles. Members of Torridon and Kinlochewe Mountain Rescue Team were alerted to the men’s plight by a call from the trio after getting stuck on the ridge.

A helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth was scrambled and the men were flown to safety, from the 1,055m (3,461ft) munro, uninjured but cold and wet. They did not need medical treatment.
