A walker was rescued from a Lakeland fell yesterday evening after getting lost in mist.

The woman, from Richmond, North Yorkshire, was found by Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team at Link Hause, between 873m-high (2,864ft) Fairfield and Hart Crag. 14 members of the team were called out to help Langdale and Ambleside MRT search for the missing walker.

A spokesperson for the Patterdale team said: “She had been descending from Fairfield and was unhappy to continue on her intended route in the poor visibility so had waited in her bivvy bag until she was located by mountain rescue.”

She was walked down to Patterdale by members of the team, cold,  but otherwise unhurt.
