Police in the Highlands say they are becoming increasingly concerned for a walker who is missing in the Cairngorms.

An extensive search of the Glenfeshie area, near Kingussie, has failed to find Robin Davies, 48, of Inverness. He set off walking in the area either in the late morning or early afternoon of Saturday, 21 February.

Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team were joined by colleagues from RAF Kinloss in the search, which began late on Saturday and resumed at first light yesterday, Sunday. Tayside MRT, which was training in the area, also assisted.

Mr Davies, described as an experienced walker, was with his dog, a black-and-tan Yorkshire terrier. The walker is thought to be wearing a dark, or possibly camouflage-style jacket. The dog is believed to have a red collar and lead.

Northern Constabulary are appealing to anyone who has met Mr Davies, who knows where he intended walking, or has seen him, to contact the police station at Aviemore on 01479 810222. Alternatively, members of the public can contact their local police station.
