It was third time unlucky for a walker who fell at a Lake District beauty spot today.

After two false alarms yesterday, Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team had a real casualty to deal with when called to help a walker who had injured his ankle at Aira Force, near Dockray.

Nine members of the team went to the aid of the man who was treated at the scene and then carried by stretcher to his vehicle. His family then drove him to hospital.
