One man and his dog were rescued from a Welsh hillside yesterday.

Members of North East Wales Search and Rescue were airlifted to the site by police helicopter after a call about 2.30pm. The North Wales Police helicopter found the injured man and his animal at World’s End and one of its crew administered first aid to the walker.

The helicopter then ferried members of the search and rescue team to the site, on Eglwyseg Mountain near Minera, north of Llangollen.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: “The male and the dog were then helped down the mountainside to safety by the Newsar team members. They were reported to be safe and well.”
