A walker was rescued from a Lake District fell after becoming cragfast at the weekend.

The woman was walking above Levers Water near Coniston on Easter Sunday when she became stuck. 17 members of the Coniston Mountain Rescue Team went to her aid.

The walker was rescued from Great How Crags, below the 804m (2,637ft) Swirl How, north of the tarn. The team was called out at 3.55pm.

A spokesperson for the Coniston MRT said: “The lady was made safe, lowered off the crag and accompanied off the hill unhurt.”
