Rescuers are continuing their search for a woman paddler who went missing this morning in the Scottish Highlands.

The woman, in her 20s and from the North of England, became separated from her kayaking group after capsizing about 9am today in Glencoe.

Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team joined the search on the River Coe with police officers and Coastguard volunteers. Police said the search was concentrated on five areas between the Clachaig Inn and Glencoe village. A Sea King helicopter from HMS Gannet also joined the search.

A spokesperson for Northern Constabulary said the woman’s family had been informed.
