A Coastguard helicopter flew the injured man to hospital

A man was airlifted from a Skye mountain after injuring himself.

Members of the Skye Mountain Rescue Team were alerted about 11.30am after the walker fell about 10m (33ft) on Blà Bheinn, the 928m (3,045ft) munro east of the main Cuillin range and went to his aid.

A Coastguard helicopter from Stornoway flew the man at about 1pm to Broadford Hospital on the island, where his ankle injury was treated.
