Sir Chris Bonington. The lecture will take place next month in Dunfermline, Fife

Members of the Mountaineering Council of Scotland have the chance to win free tickets to hear a lecture by one of the elder statesmen of British climbing.

The lecture by Everest summiteer Sir Chris Bonington will take place in Dunfermline next month and the MCofS is offering a pair of tickets to the event in a competition.

The competition is open to individual members and those belonging to affiliated clubs.

MCofS membership development officer Mike Dales said: “This is a great opportunity for one of our members to take a friend or relative to see the Chris Bonington lecture for free. Chris is a fantastic speaker and his lectures are always excellent. I look forward to sending out the two free tickets to one lucky MCofS member.”

Closing date for entries is 10 September and the lecture will take place on 24 September. Details are on the MCofS website.
