Berghaus had added two backpacking rucksacks to its range for the summer season.

The large capacity trail packs have been updated and restyled for 2011, with the Verden offering up to 65 + 10-litre suitable for backpacking trips. A smaller 45 + 8-litre version will also be on sale, and both versions are available in women-specific models.

The company says the Verden packs have been designed with comfort in mind with its BIOFIT backsystem for improved fit and load carrying, and a stiffened hip belt for better load transfer, along with a spring-loaded camlock adjustment and ergonomically designed padded shoulder straps.

The Verden range has suggested selling prices between £85 and£100, depending on model.

The Torridon has a 65-litre capacity and, according to Berghaus, ‘solid backpacking performance and value for money’. The women’s version is smaller at 60 litres, but both feature the

The latter has a women’s harness for extra comfort.

The Torridon has a suggested price of £75.
