Richard Lyon: safe after going missing

A keen hillwalker who had been missing from his home since Tuesday has been found safe and well.

Richard Lyon had not been seen since he left for work from his house in Kirkmichael, Ayrshire.

He was traced in central Scotland after his car was found in Dunblane on Wednesday. The munrobagger’s disappearance led to appeals to walkers for sightings of the 59-year-old, as police believed he could have gone hillwalking.

Mr Lyon’s family said: “We would just like to thank everyone involved in helping to find Richard and we owe a great deal to those who supported the campaign.”
