A walker was rescued after falling and injuring herself today.

Seven members of the Coniston Mountain Rescue Team went to the aid of the woman on Claife Heights, east of Hawkshead at 1.40pm.

Paramedics and rescue team members treated her at the scene for serious arm injuries before she was driven from the site by the volunteers’ Land Rover.

She was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
