Police are appealing for the public’s help after the theft of a number of mountain bikes from a hire company.

Northern Constabulary said the seven bikes, valued at about £25,000 in total, were taken between 5.30pm and 10.30pm on Sunday from the Alpine Bikes shop at the Nevis Range resort on Aonach Mòr.

Some of the bikes were hire bikes, but others belonged to staff and customers.

A police spokesperson said: “Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Fort William Police Station on 01397 702361.

“You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online.”
