Staff and customers at a Glasgow outdoors shop have helped swell the coffers of a rescue team’s appeal for funds.

A £700 donation from Nevisport in Sauchiehall Street has taken the total of Lomond Mountain Rescue Team’s fund for a new Land Rover to £20,000.

Public, friends and supporters have all chipped in towards the £35,000 price of the new vehicle for the team, which covers a large swathe of central Scotland from its base in Drymen.

The team will also be auctioning soon a signed limited edition Rox David Coulthard CEO Tech watch, which normally retails for more than £600. The former Formula One driver has donated the timepiece to the team to help its vehicle appeal.
