Cicerone's guides can be had for a knock-down price

Outdoors fans on the lookout for a bargain guidebook can pick up a copy at knock-down prices as publishers Cicerone clear out their shelves with a January sale.

Titles on offer cover subjects from walking in various parts of the UK to canoeing, snowshoeing, canyoning and mountain biking and stretch from the Danube to New Zealand.

A spokesperson for the Cumbria-based company said: “All the books in the sale are either out of print or have slightly tatty covers and are available to order direct from Cicerone.

“There are loads of different titles on offer from Rock Climbs in the Verdon to Cycle Touring in Ireland. So you could grab a new title for a bargain price or find an obscure old guide that’s just the ticket for your next adventure.”

Prices range from £2.50 upwards and will be supplied on a first-come, first served basis.

More details are on the Cicerone website.
