The Woodhead Pass is one of the roads closed due to winter conditions

Snow and ice have led to the closure of several roads in the Peak District.

Derbyshire County Council said the following roads are impassable and shut to traffic.

The A57 Snake Pass; the A628 Woodhead Pass and the Woodhead Road; the A54 Cat and Fiddle Road; the A6024 over Holme Moss, and Monks Road at Charlesworth.

The authority said other roads in the Peak District are passable with care.

Several mountain rescue teams have been called out to help stranded motorists as a band of snow sweeps south-eastwards across the UK.

The Met Office said the snow is likely to ease in the early hours of Sunday, but clearing skies will then bring the risk of ice in the morning.
