The woman injured herself while walking on Wetherlam

A walker was airlifted to hospital after injuring herself on a Lakeland fell.

The woman was walking in the Lad Stones area of Wetherlam today, Saturday, when she slipped.

Thirteen members of the Coniston Mountain Rescue Team went to the woman’s aid after being alerted shortly after 4pm and she was treated for ankle injuries before being stretchered to the Great North Air Ambulance and flown to Furness General Hospital in Barrow in Furness for further treatment.
