The Vaude Terraquattro

The Vaude Terraquattro

A German tent brand has introduced a new range of tents that will be available in the UK only through retailers who can provide specialist advice, demonstrations and after-sales support.

Vaude’s Terra range is based on its classic designs with improved features.

The company said the tents make an ideal buy at a competitive price for first outdoor adventures.

The Terratrio two-person and three-person are priced at £165 and £195 respectively and feature two main poles with simultaneous pitching of the fly and inner sheets which, Vaude says, allow for simple, quick and easy pitching.

The updated tents are based on the Taurus design and have two mini poles sewn into the fly sheet at the rear corners to improve stability in windy conditions and provide extra internal foot space.

The models also feature a large porch for gear storage and have a fully seam-taped ripstop flysheet for minimal weight and waterproof protection.

Weighing 2.45kg and 2.7kg respectively, the two- and three-person tents come in a tent bag that allows the whole tent to be compressed down to minimise pack size.

The Terraquattro three-person is a development of the Vaude Mark II and has the external suspension system first launched more than 20 years ago which the company says makes it one of the quickest in the world to pitch.

Priced at £270, the Terraquattro has a four-footed structure for a full, four-season, all-mountain stability tent even in strong winds.

The model features a roomy porch at each end of the tent to enable gear storage at one end and cooking in the other. Vaude also says this gives excellent through ventilation in warmer weather.

The 3.5kg tent also packs into a compressing bag.

Nationwide stockists of the tents are: Cotswold, Snow and Rock and Ellis Brigham. Regional and mail order stockists are: The Climbers Shop, Ambleside, Spike Outdoors, Shrewsbury and Action Outdoors, Ipswich.
