Two walkers were rescued after getting lost in mist on a Lakeland fell.

Eighteen members of the Coniston Mountain Rescue Team were joined by colleagues from the Duddon and Furness team after being alerted about 7pm on Good Friday.

The two women called for help after becoming disoriented in poor visibility in the White Pike area above Coniston.

The fell lies west of Walna Scar.

The two women were found unhurt near White Pike by Coniston team members. Rescuers accompanied them off the fell to one of the Duddon and Furness team’s vehicles and they were driven back to their accommodation in Coniston.
