Paul Henry, who was last in contact with his family on Sunday

Police are appealing for sightings of a missing hillwalker.

Paul Henry of Stranraer was last seen at the weekend at the Ardrossan ferry terminal in Ayrshire and Strathclyde Police believe he was heading to the isle of Arran to go walking.

Nothing has been heard from him since Sunday and officers and the man’s family are increasingly concerned for the 31-year-old’s safety.

He was spotted at 5pm on Saturday at the quayside. A police spokesperson said: “He is a keen hillwalker and it is thought that he was heading to Arran to hillwalk.

“At around 12.45pm on Sunday 6 May he contacted a family member and said that he was in the Brodick area of Arran. No-one has heard from him since.”

Mr Henry is described as white, 5ft 6ins (1.68m) with short brown hair. When last seen he was wearing a black jacket, blue trousers and was carrying a red rucksack.

Anyone with information on the man’s whereabouts is urged to contact Strathclyde Police on 01294 404599 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
