The men died when their aircraft crashed on 1,174m (3,851ft) Ben More

Police say the two men who died on a munro in the southern Highlands have been formally identified.

Alan McCaskie, 63, of Broughty Ferry, Dundee, and David Martin, 61, of Kinghorn in Fife died when their microlight aircraft crashed near the summit of Ben More near Crianlarich on Saturday.

Both men were members of the Scottish Aero Club, based at Scone, Perthshire. Mr Martin had been the club’s secretary and membership secretary.

Central Scotland Police said there were no suspicious circumstances and a spokesperson added: “The collision is now being investigated by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch.”
