Specialist mountain rescuers received a boost for their coffers from a Snowdonia business.

The Legacy Royal Hotel in Llanberis handed a cheque to members of the Search and Rescue Dogs Association Wales.

A spokesperson for Sarda Wales said: “The hotel has a long association with mountain rescue and its search dogs and when it heard of our shortage of funds was keen to help.”

General manager Tracy Salisbury handed over the £300 cheque to Sarda Wales chair Helen Howe, with representatives and their dogs invited for tea on the hotel’s lawn.

The spokesperson added: “As well as a gratefully received financial donation the hotel has provided its grounds for training and has pledged display space in each of its rooms to spread the word on the valuable service the search dogs provide, and how to avoid needing them in the mountains.”
