Tamas Gador's body was found on the western shore of Lewis

Police have confirmed the body found on a Hebridean island at the weekend was that of missing camper Tamas Gador.

The 27-year-old Hungarian man’s remains were found in the Dail Mòr area of the Isle of Lewis on Saturday in an operation involving the Stornoway Coastguard helicopter, a lifeboat and members of the Coastguard cliff rescue team.

Mr Gador had not been seen for a week since embarking on a camping trip on the island.

Mr Gador’s father Peter flew from their home in Hungary to help the search for his son and his sister Krisztina Gador Meyers contacted grough to appeal to outdoor enthusiasts to be on the lookout for her brother.

A Northern Constabulary spokesperson said no further details were available.

A post-mortem examination on Mr Gador was due to be carried out.
