Nepalese gear brand Sherpa Adventure Gear has unveiled its range for the winter season, from waterproof shell jackets to base layers.

The brand, backed by climbing luminaries Kenton Cool and Neil Gresham, is based in Kathmandu where most of its gear is designed and made.

It’s relatively new to the UK, but its designs are aimed firmly at keeping walkers and climbers dry and warm in the worst of weather, and the company, which was set up in 2003, donates a part of each sale to an educational project in its home country.

The Lithang Three-Layer Jacket is a lightweight, breathable and stretchy hard shell aimed at keeping the wearer warm and comfortable whether walking, climbing or skiing.

Boasting 20,000mm waterproofing and 20,000g breathability, the Lithang, named after a county in south-western Tibet, has sealed seams, waterproof zips, pit zips and articulated elbows.

The hood is helmet compatible and the jacket weighs 543g and comes in sizes S to XXL, priced £200.

The women’s Annapurna jacket is an insulated jacket using Primaloft One insulation with a wind- and water-resistant ripstop nylon shell.

The 405g jacket is available in sizes XS to XL and costs £130.

The Tsepun Quarter-Zip Top is a base layer featuring Dry-Zone intelligent fabric that Sherpa says is fast-wicking and dries incredibly quickly. The fleece is woven with anti-bacterial silver ions to cut down on odour and has high thermal conductivity control.

The top has 50+ Factor UV protection and flat-locked seams with raglan sleeves.
