A holiday co-operative is opening its doors to the public to mark its centenary.

HF Holidays, which started life as the Holiday Fellowship, was founded 100 years ago and two of its centres are inviting walkers to join their celebrations.

The Longmynd Hotel in Shropshire will be hosting an Open Day on Sunday 17 March and West Lulworth House in Lulworth Cove will open its doors on Sunday 7 April to welcome walkers from the local area and beyond.

“All walkers are welcome to experience HF Holidays’ hospitality and century-long expertise in providing guided walking holidays,” a spokesperson said.

Guided walks of three to nine miles (5km to 15km) exploring the best of the local area will depart in regular intervals throughout the morning with an afternoon tea awaiting walkers on their return.

Overnight accommodation will be available at both hotels at a special price.

The Longmynd Hotel, with its elevated location above the town of Church Stretton in Shropshire, has been operated by HF Holidays since February 2012 and draws walkers from around the country to explore the Shropshire Hills and beyond.

West Lulworth House was the first purpose-built hotel accommodation in Lulworth Cove village, dating from 1881. Known as Cromwell House in recent years, new owners HF Holidays is reverting the name to its original West Lulworth House to recognise its history.

Two further HF Holidays open days are planned to take place in the autumn.
