The climber who died in an accident in Borrowdale last week has been named.

Jacqueline Jackson, 65, of Brampton, Cumbria, fell 100m (330ft) to the foot of Black Crag last Thursday.

She and her climbing partner had completed the Troutdale Pinnacle route and were making their way down when Ms Jackson slipped and fell.

Keswick Mountain Rescue Team went to the climber’s aid, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Cumbria Constabulary spokesperson said: “Her family have been informed and the file has been passed to the coroner. There are no suspicious circumstances.”
