Keen walker Clive Dennier went missing in March

Police in the Highlands said a body has been found in the Kinloch Hourn area.

The discovery was made yesterday, Friday, after a member of the public contacted police.

The man’s body has not yet been formally identified.

A major search took place in March in the Kinloch Hourn area for missing journalist Clive Dennier, whose car was found in the area after he failed to turn up for work at his newspaper the Strathspey and Badenoch Herald.

Glenelg, Kintail and Royal Air Force Mountain Rescue Teams, Coastguard and police dog units took part in the search, which centred on the Knoydart Peninsula.

The volunteer civilian Skywatch organisation was also involved in the operation to find the 50-year-old.

Mr Dennier was an experienced walker.

Police Scotland said the body was found yesterday evening, and a spokesperson added: “The family of missing person Clive Dennier have been informed of this development.

“Arrangements are being made for a formal identification.”
