A man was airlifted to hospital after falling on a Lakeland fell.

Kendal Mountain Rescue Team was called out today at 11.35am after the man suffered leg and hip injuries on Scout Scar, west of the town.

Rescue team members gave him pain relief and treated him before he was flown from the site by the North West Air Ambulance.

An ambulance crew also attended the incident.
