Colin Barnfather is believed to have gone walking in the Kinloch Hourn area

Police are appealing to walkers in the Highlands for sightings of a man who has been reported missing.

Colin Barnfather, 54, is believed to have travelled to Lochaber at the end of last month to go hillwalking and camping.

He has been reported missing to police in Derby and officers in Scotland said they are keen to hear from any walkers who may have spoken to Mr Barnfather or seen a blue Honda car parked in the Kinloch Hourn area, which is popular with walkers.

Mr Barnfather is described as 5ft 8ins (173cm) in height, medium build with short grey hair.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “It is unclear what clothing he was last wearing, but thought to be outdoor in style but he is known to be using a single person, green tent.”

Anyone with information about his whereabouts please contact police on 101.
