PrimaLoft Local Heroes will receive support to fulfil their dreams

American brand PrimaLoft, which makes the insulation that goes in many outdoors clothes, is on the lookout for Local Heroes.

The company wants to hear from outdoors people from all walks of life who have set themselves adventurous goals or simply take part in extraordinary day-to-day events.

Winners in the international competition will get support from PrimaLoft to realise their ambitions.

A PrimaLoft spokesperson said: “If you, or anyone you know, has an ambitious charity plan or just for pure self-fulfilment, you or they could become the next PrimaLoft Local Hero.

“So whether you’re a young person who wants to trek to Everest basecamp, a sports-clothing enthusiast who climbs 4,000ft mountains on holiday, a cleaner who works on skyscrapers at lofty heights, or a mother with four children who enjoys trekking for charity in her spare time, anyone can be a PrimaLoft Local Hero.”

The company is also offering PrimaLoft goodies for candidates and voters to win during the campaign.

Currently up for grabs on the Local Hero website is an adidas Outdoor Terrex PrimaLoft Ndosphere Jacket worth £145.

PrimaLoft is also encouraging all applicants to also share their experiences on social media platforms to encourage as many votes as possible.

PrimaLoft insulation was originally developed for the US Amy as a water-resistant, synthetic alternative to down. Its products are used in many outdoor brands.

Details of the Local Hero scheme are on the dedicated PrimaLoft website.
