Seven search dogs and handlers joined a search for a missing walker in the Lake District.

Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out about 6pm today to look for the walker who had been reported overdue in the Aira Force area.

A Patterdale MRT spokesperson said that, because of the nature of the incident, the team requested help from Lake District Mountain Rescue Search Dogs, and seven handlers and animals joined the hunt for the walker.

The spokesperson said: “As the search started the overdue walker was located close to Dalemain by a team member attending the search.

“The walker was brought to the location of the search and reunited with his family.”

The rescue involved 14 members of the Patterdale team.
