Outdoors enthusiasts are being offered the chance to savour the essence of the UK’s national parks in a bottle.

Air freshener manufacturer Air Wick has announced a tie-up with the 15 parks and is producing four fragrances which are claimed to capture the freshness of country landscapes.

The brand, owned by Anglo-Dutch firm Reckitt Benckiser, will also help generate funds for heritage projects according to UK National Parks, the umbrella body for the 15 areas.

Reckitt Benckiser also owns brands such as Cillit Bang, Durex, Dettol and Strepsils.

UK National Parks said Air Wick’s new fragrances have been blended to evoke the spirit of the national parks, with the spring-summer collection placing the spotlight on the Yorkshire Dales, Brecon Beacons, Exmoor and Peak District.

Air Wick marketing director Jerome Lemaire said: “We view this as a fantastic opportunity to make everyone more aware of these beautiful areas of protected countryside and help to preserve their heritage.”

The brand has previously released fragrances based on the USA’s national parks.

“We feel this partnership will help us continue our mission to engage young people and families,” National Parks UK director Kathryn Cook said.

“We take great care in the choice of partners because there has to be a synergy between an organisation such as National Parks UK and a brand.

“We felt that Air Wick appreciated what we are trying to achieve and that Air Wick, through its manufacturer, Reckitt Benckiser, is a responsible company committed to sustainability, with clear and established goals to improve the environmental impact of its business.”

The four room fragrances are on sale in UK shops from this month.
