The clean-up was Envirotrek's first in north Wales

A haul of rubbish in a clean-up of a corner of Snowdonia included a traffic cone, tent poles, an empty whisky container and a CO2 capsule.

The Envirotrek event, organised by Netherlands-based Respect the Mountains, collected almost a quarter of a ton of rubbish from the area around Llanberis.

Local activities company Raw Adventures helped with the event, which included a choice of outdoor challenges in the afternoon for participants.

Forty-three people took part in the Envirotrek day, the first to be held in north Wales. The series, which includes similar events across Europe, is sponsored by outdoor brands Keen and Bergans of Norway.

More usual detritus collected in 33 bags included paper, bottles and plastic.

The most enthusiastic rubbish collector won a pair of hiking shoes from Keen.

The finders of the most original pieces of rubbish were also rewarded prices. In the afternoon participants sampled kayaking, climbing and high or low ropes courses.

Joining other sponsors Barefoot Wines were local partners were: the Snowdonia Society, The Heights, Crib Goch Outdoors, Loving our Lake Campaign, CK Cabs, Snowdonia Active, Boulder Adventures, Ropes and Ladders and local guides.
