Police are appealing for the public’s help in providing information after the discovery of the bodies of birds of prey in Aberdeenshire.

The remains of six buzzards were found in the Fordoun area, south-west of Stonehaven, on Wednesday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said the birds’ bodies were found about 3.30pm in a field about a mile north-west of the village, on the unclassified road leading towards Auchenblae.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding their death,” the spokesperson said. “Anyone with any information should call Police Scotland on 101.”
