A walker was rescued after getting lost on a Lakeland fell.

The man, from Cleator, Cumbria, became disoriented while walking between Buttermere and Ennerdale on Sunday.

Police alerted Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team about 6.20pm after the walker contacted them by mobile phone.

Search dogs from the Lake District Mountain Rescue Search Dogs Association joined 19 members of the mountain rescue team in a search of footpaths and fells between the two valleys.

He was eventually found near Gale Fell and team members escorted him to safety back down in the valley.
