A walker was airlifted from a Lake District fell after slipping and injuring her leg.

The woman was on the path between Blea Water and Haweswater when she fell.

Penrith Mountain Rescue Team was called out at 10.50am today and went to the woman’s aid.

She was treated at the scene and stretchered to an air ambulance.

The three-hour rescue involved 10 volunteers from the team.
