The walker fell close to the Corridor Route which leads to Scafell Pike

A man was stretchered from a Lake District fell after falling and injuring his leg.

Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out about 5.30pm on Saturday to aid the walker near the Corridor Route.

He was treated at the scene, above Spouthead Gill. Rescuers said it was wet and windy night.

The walker was then stretchered down to Wasdale Head in an operation involving 26 volunteer team members.

The rescue ended at 11pm.
