Missing man Andrew Edwards

Police in the Highlands are appealing to walkers for sightings of a man who has gone missing.

Officers believe Andrew Edwards, 52, may be in the Crianlarich or Tyndrum area of the southern Highlands.

Mr Edwards, of Blandford Forum in Dorset, was last seen by staff at a Fort William hotel at 10.15am on Monday. He texted a friend and a member of his family that evening to say he was in a mountainous area. Police said he has not been seen since.

Chief Inspector Ian Roe of Dorset Police said: “We believe Andrew has been very upset recently and we are becoming increasingly concerned for him.

“Our investigations have revealed that it is likely that Andrew travelled to Scotland from Dorset on coach or train and that he could be in the area of Crianlarich or Tyndrum in north Stirlingshire.

“I know this area is popular with walkers and I would urge anyone who has seen Andrew or a man matching his description to please call Dorset Police on 101. We will then pass the information onto Police Scotland.

“If anyone has heard from Andrew please get in touch.

“Finally, if Andrew sees this appeal I would urge him to please contact us – your family are very worried about you.”

Anyone with information about Mr Edwards’s whereabouts is asked to call Dorset Police on 101 quoting incident number 28:507.
