A man suffered serious leg injuries after falling at a North Yorkshire beauty spot.

Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association members were called out about 1.20pm on Monday to aid an ambulance crew at Brimham Rocks.

The 40-year-old fell 10ft at the site near Summerbridge. Ambulance paramedics treated him at the scene before he was stretchered to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, which airlifted him to hospital.

Earlier in the day, the Upper Wharfedale team was called to an injured walker in Hebden Gill, near Grassington.

The 50-year-old injured her leg in the incident. She was treated by team members who were alerted about 10.30am, before being stretchered to a waiting ambulance.
