Ian Stalker has been reported missing after going walking in Knoydart

Rescuers searching for a missing walker in the Highlands have found a man’s body.

The family of Ian Stalker have been informed after the discovery in Knoydart.

Mr Stalker, 65, of Edinburgh, was reported missing after heading out for a walk in the Sgurr a’ Choire-bheithe area on Tuesday. The alarm was raised on Wednesday when he failed to return.

Members of Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team were joined in the search by the Inverness Coastguard helicopter.

Sergeant Keith Almond of Police Scotland said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this time.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
