Rescuers in the Highlands reiterated appeals for sightings of a walker who has gone missing in Wester Ross.
More than 20 members of Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team joined the search for Martin Rhodes, who has not been seen since Wednesday when he left the Kinlochewe Hotel.
The team joined colleagues from the Torridon and Kintail teams and the RAF Mountain Rescue Service at Lossiemouth in a major operation across a wide area to try to find the 46-year-old, who is believed to have set out to go walking in the Kinlochewe area.
Search and Rescue Dogs Association Scotland and the Inverness Coastguard helicopter also joined the search.
Dundonnell MRT team leader Donald MacRae said that extensive searches have taken place on Slioch, A’ Mhaighdean and Mulloch Coire Mhic Fhearchair. “Given the extreme remoteness of the location team members operated in, they were able to remain in contact by using the team’s own satellite phones which were recently purchased with a grant from the Scottish Mountain Trust.
“I would urge anyone who was in this area and in particular the hills mentioned on 1May and who may have seen Martin or a lone walker to call the police on 101.”
Wintry weather has returned to the area’s mountains, the team added.
The missing walker, from West Yorkshire, is described as 46 years old, 5ft 4ins (1.63m) tall, of slim build with short brown hair. Anyone with any information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Police Scotland as soon as possible.
