Police are appealing for information on a man who has gone missing while walking the West Highland Way.

Officers said James Rawlinson was last seen at 8.30am on Wednesday when he left Beinglas farmhouse at the head of Glen Falloch.

He intended to walk solo towards Tyndrum.

A police spokesperson said: “Anyone who has seen James or knows of his current whereabouts is asked to contact Police Scotland as soon as possible and quote incident number 3447 of 8 May.”

The missing walker is described as white, about 5ft 7ins (1.70m) tall, medium to stocky build with white-grey short hair. He wears glasses on occasion and has a small scar to his left cheek.

He was last seen wearing a red Berghaus waterproof jacket, black waterproof trousers and sandy-coloured walking boots. He has a green rucksack and black and yellow Vango tent.
