Two walkers and their dog were rescued from a Lake District crag when they got stuck.

The pair and their cocker spaniel became cragfast while making their way up a gully on to Scrubby Crag on Fairfield.

Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out at 12.30pm on Sunday.

A team spokesperson said: “The rescue involved setting up a rope system to lower each person down separately to the valley floor, including the very vocal spaniel.

“Due to the location of the rescue the callout lasted over seven hours and was attended by 11 team members.”

Scrubby Crag lies at the head of Link Cove, east of the summit of Fairfield.
