Two walkers were brought to safety from a Lake District fell after one of them suffered a panic attack.

Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was alerted about 5pm on Tuesday when a woman reported her partner was unable to move after the attack.

A team spokesperson said: “The team responded and spoke to the informant over the phone and managed to obtain an exact location through the use of her smartphone.

“The pair were on Hallin Fell and they were instructed to stay where they were until four members of the team arrived and escorted them down the hill safely.”

The two-hour rescue involved seven volunteers from Patterdale MRT.
