Police in the Lake District are appealing for information after a cyclist died.

Cumbria Constabulary said officers were called to the Haweswater area about 11.35am on Thursday.

The local 58-year-old woman died at the scene. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident and said the cyclist’s death is being treated as unexplained.

They said the woman’s family has been informed.

A spokesperson said: “Anyone with information regarding this incident, who has yet to speak to police, is asked to call 101 reference number 89 of 27 June, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
