Three walkers were rescued after getting lost in fog on a Lake District fell.

Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out about 3.50pm on Saturday when the trio called for help from the High Street range.

A team spokesperson said: “A small party of team members qualified in off-road driving made their way to Arthur’s Pike in a team Land Rover and then searched the area to find the ladies close to Bonscale Tower and Swarth Beck.

“The grateful females were then escorted back to their start point in Pooley Bridge.’

The two-hour rescue involved four Patterdale MRT volunteers.
