Police have appealed to people walking in a glen in Appin on Sunday to report anything out of the ordinary they may have witnessed.

Officers said they are searching the area around Glen Duror bothy after being alerted by someone expressing concern about a person in the area about 3.30pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Information is limited. However, officers are trying to establish if anyone has come to harm. They may have been with a border collie.

“We are appealing to people who were out walking in the forest today in that area and may have seen something concerning or out of the ordinary. You may not have thought of it as being relevant at the time but if you do have information, please contact officers on 101, quoting incident number 1973 of today.”

Glen Duror lies south-east of the A828 road running along the banks of Loch Linnhe, south of South Ballachulish.
