A walker was stretchered from a Lake District hillside after injuring herself.

Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out shortly after 1pm on Monday to the incident on Hallin Fell.

The woman from Stockport fell and injured her lower leg, rendering her unable to continue walking.

A team spokesperson said: “The woman was treated for her injuries and stretchered to a waiting ambulance for onward transport to Carlisle hospital.”

The incident involved 10 team members and lasted 3½ hours.
