The road along Glen Nevis will be closed at the end of February to allow a film crew to operate in the area.

Walkers and cyclists will be guided through the site by marshals, Highland Council said.

The authority has made a traffic order closing the road from a point 700m south of the youth hostel, for about 1.3km. The order will be in force from 8am on Tuesday 28 February until 5.45pm on Friday 3 March.

The council said the closure is to allow Filmy Locations a safe working space for workers to undertake the filming.

The road closure will not affect the starting points for the ascent routes up Ben Nevis via the pony track, which are north of the closed area, nor will the route of the West Highland Way be affected, but motor vehicles will not be able to access the car parks at the southern reaches of Glen Nevis.

Motors will be permitted through the closed section for an hour from midday and for 15 minutes at 10.30am and 3pm for essential access to residential properties which can only be reached through the filming site. Access for emergency vehicles will also be maintained.
